With an abundance of music and comedy around the Coachella Valley this weekend, it is time to get out of the house. Grab your family and friends (especially Dad) and read on for some fantastic shows coming our way.
1. Joe Purdy at Pappy and Harriett’s
Joe Purdy is an American singer/songwriter with ties to folk rock music. He has released more than a dozen albums over his career and is back with Folk Slinger and Coyote. An introspective and passionate artist, it is going to be a fabulous show.
You can never go wrong at Pappy and Harriet’s. Besides amazing music, their barbeque is delectable, and the cheese fries are too good for words. Try their pulled pork sandwich full of smoky flavor or the Flat Iron steak, 8 ounces of grass-fed Wagyu beef (my favorite).
2. Caliente Comedy at Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs
For a hilarious good time, check out Jimmy Della Valle aka Jimmy D at Caliente Comedy this Friday night at Agua Caliente Casino in Palm Springs. Jimmy has done over 15,000 comedy shows and is known for his rapid-fire delivery, one-liners and hysterical stories. Also an actor, he has appeared in numerous shows including The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Conan and Without a Trace. He created, produced and starred in the Netflix sitcom, Not for Nothin‘. Saturday night, the Red Hot Cholo Peppers take the stage singing hits of the Red Hot Chili Peppers mixed with a little “Cholo” flavor. This 4-piece group of seasoned musicians deliver a high-energy show.
4. Tom Segura at Spotlight 29 Casino
For comedy on the other end of the valley, Spotlight 29 is presenting Tom Seguro on Saturday night. One of the biggest names in the comedy business, he has told his humorous tales on multiple Netflix specials, appeared in several movies and television shows, and co-hosts two podcasts. He is sure to tickle your funny bone.

5. Yacht Rock Day Party at The Alibi
The weather forecast is looking swell for this weekend (at least by desert standards), so why not hit up the Alibi in Palm Springs for an afternoon of Yacht Rock. DJ’s will be spinning everyone’s favorite 70’s sailing tunes, and their bartenders will be serving up colorful tropical cocktails. Sounds like a win to me!
