Cooper and I are always looking for a place to beat the desert heat and unique stays are a plus. That’s how we ended up sleeping in a treehouse at Namaste Farms in Temecula, a working 5-acre sheep farm.
Namaste Farms in Temecula
Namaste Farms is located in Temecula’s beautiful wine country off the De Portola Wine Trail. This makes it the perfect place to stay after a fun day of wine tasting. Once a racehorse ranch, it is now a working sheep farm owned by Sean and Natalie Redding. Roosters, chickens, peacocks, horses, goats, and dogs are some of the other residents of the farm. Part of the joy of staying at Namaste Farms is the interaction with the animals. Sean and Natalie not only invite you to walk around, but feeding the animals is encouraged. It is a one of a kind experience.

The Treehouse at Namaste Farms
Namaste Farms offers four different accommodations – the Treehouse, the Main Cottage, the Hay Barn Cottage, and the “Hammie” Trailer. Coop and I chose the Treehouse for our stay.
It is truly a piece of art complete with stained glass windows. A full sized bed takes up the majority of the “house” part of the structure, but there was plenty of light, room for my bag, fresh fruit and coffee on the window sill and robes for the trip to the restroom and outdoor shower, both just a few steps away. The deck of the Treehouse is the back of an old-fashioned truck and provides a great view of the farm. Twinkly lights make it all the more magical at night.

Namaste Farms is Dog-Friendly
Your furry BFF is welcome to accompany you to the farm with a few common sense rules. As there are many free range animals on the property, dogs must be kept on a short leash and may not be tethered or tied outside, nor may they be left alone. Barking must also be kept under control.
Only small dogs are allowed in the Treehouse as there is just not enough room for a larger dog. Cooper loved exploring the farm and for the most part, did not have any issues with the farm inhabitants. He found many interesting smells to keep him busy.
What to Know to Not Stress Before You Go
As mentioned above, there are four different accommodations to pick from:
- The Main Cottage – Sleeps up to four and comes with a private bathroom and kitchenette.
- The Hay Barn Cottage – Sleeps up to three and has a private bathroom and kitchenette.
- The “Hammie” Trailer – Sleeps two comfortably and is equipped with a small kitchenette and bathroom.
- The Treehouse – Sleeps two with an outdoor flush toilet, sink and shower.
Both the “Hammie” and Treehouse are considered “glamping” adventures. All can be found on Airbnb or VRBO.
While the bed and bathroom were very clean, it is a farm, so be prepared for a little dust and dirt. If you are looking for a white glove experience, this might not be for you.
Free parking is right outside the gate of the farm.
It can be a bit loud. Animals make noise and get up early. This is part of the charm and makes the stay more special.
