Why I Fell in Love with Farm in Palm Springs

On a recent solo night out on the town, I treated myself to dinner at Farm in Palm Springs. All I can say is WOW! I fell in love. Based on the reactions from the fellow diners in the room, I was not the only one. Read on to find out why you must try this amazing eatery.

The Ambience is Romantique

Farm in Palm Springs is located at La Plaza, an open-air shopping center between Palm Canyon and Indian Canyon Drives. From the outside, it is unassuming, but once down a short pathway, you are transported to a magical French garden. Sit outside amongst flowers and glowing lights or inside surrounded by elevated farm-chic décor. On the night I visited, I sat inside in a cozy room with a fireplace and enjoyed live music from the patio drifting in through one of the large open windows.

While parking in downtown Palm Springs can be tricky, the parking garage at the corner of Baristo and Indian Canyon is an easy 5-minute walk to the restaurant. Plus, it’s free!

The Food at Farm in Palm Springs is C’est Magnifique

When someone mentions brunch in Palm Springs, Farm probably comes to mind, and for good reason. This traditional Provencal-style restaurant has an abundance of delicious breakfast and lunch menu items. Think sweet and savory crepes, fluffy egg dishes including benedicts, super sandwiches, crisp salads and much more. I plan to try the bacon, chicken & waffle on my next trip.

Dinner can only be described as scrumptious and is quite the production. Your server presents the table with a large chalkboard with the night’s prix fixe offerings. Each guest selects an appetizer, main course and dessert. Then, the show starts.

First up is an amuse bouche to tantalize your taste buds followed by a basket of fresh bread. Your appetizer arrives next. I had a hard time deciding between smoked salmon carpaccio and crispy goat cheese. The smoked salmon won and was awesome. A small scoop of limoncello is served as a palate cleanser between courses. My entrée was whitefish with roasted potatoes and broccolini. The lemon caper sauce was divine. I ended my meal with the perfectly sized portion of yummy strawberry cheesecake.

The prix fixe menu changes every two weeks or so with a nice variety of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes to choose from. Each one is unique and delectable. Reservations strongly suggested.

The Cocktails are Innovant

Not only is the food mouthwatering, the drinks are tasty too. Imbibe in the Botanical Berry, winner of the 2019 Palm Springs Craft Cocktail Competition. This concoction features house-made peach-mint puree and blackberry agave. Or, sip a mixture of bourbon, muddled strawberry, lemon, ginger beer, bitters and simple syrup otherwise known as a Julia Carnell. Who is she? You will have to ask your server.

Find an interesting beer selection and an extensive wine list at Farm in Palm Springs. Non-alcoholic options include watermelon lemonade and blood orange iced tea. Ask about their mocktails.

Innovative fruity cocktails can be found at Farm.
