Take a trip to a bygone era at Michael Holmes’ Purple Room Supper Club in Palm Springs. You can almost hear Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr. crooning on stage. Opened in 1960, it was a favorite haunt of the Hollywood elite in its heyday. The road hasn’t always been smooth for the club, but today it is flourishing. Read on to find out just what makes it so special.
The Intimate Setting at the Purple Room Supper Club
The center bar in the Purple Room divides the seating area into two, each with a fantastic view of the stage. The purple paint, elegant lighting and crisp, white tablecloths give the room a swanky vibe. Murals of Frank, Dean and Sammy adorn the walls taking you to back to the swinging 60’s. The hospitality is warm and the service spot-on.
It’s a Bourbon Lover’s Dream at the Purple Room Supper Club
Frank loved his bourbon and so will you at Frank’s Bourbon Bar inside the Purple Room Supper Club. Boasting over 50 different bourbons and whiskeys with many hard to find and rare selections available. Choose any three of Frank’s, Dean’s or the Rat Pack’s favorites to sample in one of the club’s flights priced from $25 to $99.
If bourbon is not your thing, indulge in a one-of-a-kind craft cocktail like the Play It Again Sam, a mai tai using Trader Vic’s original recipe. Other fun drinks include the Cat on a Hot Gin Roof and Marilyn’s “What a Pear” martini. An extensive wine list is also offered.
The Divine Entertainment at the Purple Room Supper Club
There’s not a bad seat in the house at The Purple Club which is a good thing. The entertainment is divine. The very popular Judy Show, featuring club owner Michael Holmes as the legendary star, takes the stage most Sunday nights. On Friday and Saturday evenings, enjoy Jazz, Broadway tunes, American classics and so much more performed by internationally acclaimed singers.
On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, the entertainment is complimentary. Current performers include Jazz legend Rose Mallett, Charles Herrera, Michael Holmes and Darci Daniels swinging music from the Rat Pack Era and the desert’s own Sharon Sills. There’s no cover charge, but reservations are highly recommended.
Tickets are required for the weekend shows. Being a supper club, a food and beverage minimum of $35 per person applies for each ticketed show. When you buy your ticket, a reservation is automatically made for dinner. Doors open 2 hours before the show starts.
The World-Class Cuisine at The Purple Room Supper Club
Find a diverse and delicious menu at The Purple Room Supper Club. Start with a Purple Pear Salad or Classic Wedge. Move on to the Pork Marsala, Mahi Mahi or Beef Tenderloin for the main course. Finish with the Carrot Cake or Chocolate Martini for dessert. There is something for everyone.
Partake in Happy Hour all night long on Tuesdays or the special date night menu on Wednesdays. Celebrate the season with a 3-course dinner paired with Jazz on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
A night at the Purple Room Supper Club will not disappoint. It’s one of my favorites for a terrific dinner, titillating cocktails and a tremendous show.
