There’s something about a birthday that makes you want to slow down and actually take care of yourself, and that’s exactly what I did with a full day at the Spa at Sec-he Palm Springs. I had heard nothing but great things, and I’m happy to say it absolutely lived up to the hype.
I booked their Relaxing Desert Rain Massage online for 3:30 pm, and right away I appreciated how easy the process was. Even better, the system allowed me to book for one, which isn’t always the case. Shortly after, I got a call letting me know I had qualified for a complimentary mineral bath. That felt like a pretty great way to start my birthday.

First Impressions at Spa at Sec-he Palm Springs
I arrived around 11:30 am and got a warm welcome at the front desk. At check-in, they handed me a complimentary water bottle. A spa attendant met me shortly after and walked me through the space, including my locker and robe.
Everything felt calm and easy right away. I decided this would be a true day of relaxation. No gym. No guilt. Just a reset.
Poolside Relaxation at Spa at Sec-he Palm Springs
I changed into my swimsuit and headed straight to the pool area. A Tuesday visit meant plenty of open lounge chairs.
The spa has two pools. One features a waterfall and in-water lounge chairs that gently rock while you relax. The second is a warmer mineral pool, perfect for soaking.
Cabanas and daybeds are available if you want to upgrade your setup.
I kicked things off with a glass of champagne from the Pal Bar. Ordering was quick and easy. Overall, the pricing felt fair for the experience.

Dining Options at Spa at Sec-he Palm Springs
The spa offers two food options: Malmal Café inside and the Pal Bar outside.
I stuck with the poolside option and ordered lunch from my chair. The service felt friendly and relaxed. I went with the tuna sandwich and a glass of pinot noir. The sandwich was large, fresh, and really good.
I didn’t notice a full bar, but I never felt like anything was missing.
Wellness Amenities at Spa at Sec-he Palm Springs
I spent the afternoon exploring the amenities.
The mineral pool felt warm and soothing. I also tried both the women’s-only whirlpool and the coed version.
The standout for me was the Acoustic Wellness loungers. You settle into a zero-gravity chair, put on headphones, and choose a guided meditation. The chair gently vibrates along with the audio.
I picked a relaxation meditation, leaned back, and stayed for about 20 minutes. It was simple, quiet, and surprisingly effective.
The Waiting Area at Spa at Sec-he Palm Springs
Before my massage, I sat in the coed waiting area for a bit, and it might have been one of my favorite parts of the day.
Treatment rooms surround the space, but it still feels open and serene. The soft green color palette, palm trees, and natural light coming in from above make it feel calm right away. There are wooden rocking chairs where you can just sit and breathe for a minute before your treatment.
It didn’t feel like waiting. It felt like part of the experience.

My Relaxing Desert Rain Massage Experience
My massage time came quickly.
Ian, my therapist, checked in often to make sure the pressure felt right. He started with a sugar foot scrub and used aromatherapy with desert botanicals like sage and lavender.
He incorporated heated stones throughout the treatment. Every detail felt intentional. I completely lost track of time.
The Mineral Bath at Spa at Sec-he Palm Springs
I moved into my mineral bath right after the massage.
The spa set me up in a private room with a whirlpool-style tub. The water sits around 104 degrees, and an hourglass tracks your 15 minutes.
The space felt quiet and personal. It was the perfect way to stay in that relaxed state a little longer.

Salt Cave and Final Moments of the Day
I skipped the sauna, steam room, and cold plunges since they’re not really my thing.
Instead, I went back to the vibrational loungers for another session and ended my day in the salt cave. I spent about 45 minutes reading and unwinding. It felt like the perfect way to close out the experience.
Little Details That Make a Big Difference
The small touches really stood out.
Having access to a bathing suit dryer was a nice bonus after being in and out of the pools. The locker rooms were fully stocked with everything you might need, from shampoo and conditioner to razors and hair dryers.
In the women’s lounge, I found snacks like dates, chocolate-covered raisins, dried fruit, and fresh fruit, along with water and lemonade.
It all felt thoughtful and made the day easy.
Is Spa at Sec-he Palm Springs Worth It?
I spent about six hours at the spa and left feeling relaxed and refreshed.
The pricing sits in line with other spas in the area. If you’re comparing spas in the Coachella Valley, I’ve also shared my experience at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas spa, which offers more of a resort-style vibe compared to the wellness-focused feel at Spa at Sec-he Palm Springs.
The experience, service, and amenities here make it worth it, especially for a special occasion.
As a local, I also received a 10 percent discount on my service, which was a nice surprise.
If you want a full day to unplug and recharge, the Spa at Sec-he Palm Springs delivers.
