Palm Canyon Theatre in Palm Springs has Palm Springs Getaway , A Musical Romp on the stage Friday, March 11th, and Saturday, March 12th, at 8:00pm. This is a new musical and an original for the theatre featuring the history and entertainers that made Palm Springs famous. I attended last weekend and found the show to be very entertaining and full of energy. I love regional theatre and try to support it whenever possible. Palm Canyon Theatre’s address is 538 N. I Ought To Be In Pictures

On the other end of the valley, Desert Theatreworks is presenting I Ought to be in Pictures by Neil Simon on Friday, March 11th, and Saturday, March 12th, at 7:30pm. There is also a matinee on Sunday, March 13th, at 2:00pm. While I haven’t seen this play, I have been to several performances at Desert Theatreworks and have really found them to be well acted and lots of fun. Plus, they offer popcorn and Buzzbox cocktails! You can never go wrong at Marvyn’s Magic Theater. Stay tuned for an upcoming post as this is one of my favorite venues in the desert. This weekend, John Shryock & Mari Lynn are the headliners, and it is sure to be a show of incredible magic with a touch of comedy. Shows are on Friday and Saturday with two showings at 6:00pm and 8:30pm. Get their early for a cocktail and to enjoy pre-show entertainment in their lounge. For a fun night out with friends, La Fe Wine Bar in Palm Desert offers a unique selection of wines plus a full bar, so there is something for everyone. Their menu offers small plates and charcuterie boards to share. Two of my favorites are the ahi tostadas and the steak chimichurri. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with fun décor.
